All Children are capable of being the Light of the World.

Global  Christian Unity (GCU) Academy of Sciences is to become a beam of the light of Christ to the world through children.

GCUASc is to become a beam of the light of Christ to the world through children.

  NOT FOR PRIVATE GAIN

GCU Academy of Sciences functions as an NPO (non-profit organisation) and NPC. This allows for channeling all surplus funds into attracting the highest standard of educators and upgrading facilities in the classrooms, science centre and on the sports fields.

STRONG  UNITY TRADITIONS
At GCU, we uphold strong family values. Therefore, as much as possible, most learner extramural activities and events to be held will be centred on rebuilding a united family culture according to God's original plan for mankind.

This school is for parents who, though not necessarily Christian themselves, desire a nondenominational Christian culture and strong science and creative educational experience for their children.

SMALL CLASSES

Our philosophy is to keep our school’s classes small (about 20 learners per class) in order to be able to give learners individual attention and foster close relationships between educators, learners and their families.

It is our dream to see our children become leaders of industry and builders of inventions that will socio-economically uplift their families, communities, countries and rebuild Africa.

GCUASc Values

1.. We at all times work in a close partnership with parents acknowledging them as the initial primary and principal educators of their children.
 2. We uphold Biblical values of reverence, respect, honesty, integrity, and all-round authentic and practical Christian character. We do everything as unto the Lord.
 3. We recognize that the dignity of the Christ-centred teacher/ instructor is beyond the profession – it is a calling.
 4. GCUASc has zero tolerance for unethical behaviour that could be harmful to our learners, staff, and all our stakeholders.
5. We receive learners from all religious backgrounds, albeit  unapologetically teach Christian principles as the best way of long-enduring success.

Philosophy

Technology is rapidly changing the way people live, work, play, communicate and even the way we think. Given the unprecedented rate of change in technological advancements, experts around the globe strongly concur that digital skills are a mandatory literacy required for the youth of today and tomorrow.

The GCU Academy practicalises this perspective by stimulating human capabilities from kindergarten.

The Fourth Industrial Revolution requires that today’s youth are equipped with the skills, tools and mindsets needed to think creatively, leverage technology wisely and solve wicked problems collectively. Answering the call, leading education systems around the world are striving to integrate STEM, STEAM and Maker learning experiences into students’ daily lives. Globally, we are moving away from an antiquated industrial approach toward one more suitable for today’s digital natives (
 Dr. Gina Cherkowski ).

The education model the GCU Academy of Sciences is based on the move beyond the basic notion of STEM as Science, Technology, Engineering and Math towards positioning STEM/STEAM as an integrated learning experience that leverages knowledge from traditionally siloed subjects such as maths, science and even art and the humanities, so as to creatively solve complex human problems while engaging new technologies and stimulating innovative thinking capacities.

Applying “soft skills” such as creativity, collaboration, communication and emotional intelligence to technical STEM knowledge unlocks the potential for purposeful and impactful innovation whilst enhancing the development of the human capabilities and society at large.
